Hyaluronic acid in filler

Hyaluronic acid in filler

Hyaluronic acid is used in fillers due to its biodegradable properties. Hyaluronic acid is a safe and natural substance that is found, for example, in the vitreous and cartilage of the eye. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in humans. It hydrates and keeps the skin vibrant. In addition to filling, hyaluronic acid can be used to moisturize the surface of the skin, such as lips or hands.

In hyaluronic acid-based filler treatments, the product is injected under the skin. The depth of injection depends on the area and the desired end result. Hyaluronic acid binds to itself a multiple amount of liquid compared to itself. For this reason, swelling can be considerable after hyaluronic acid-based filler treatments. The safe durability of the filler in the skin is about 3–12 months. This is influenced by, among other things, age, lifestyle, the thickness of the used filler and injection depth.
